Microsoft Expands Windows 11 Search Functionality and Enterprise Privacy Options
Microsoft has released new Windows 11 preview builds featuring direct system adjustments via search and enhanced feedback privacy controls for enterprise users.
Microsoft has pushed a series of preview updates to its Windows Insider Beta and Experimental channels, focusing on improving the efficiency of the OS search interface. Users can now adjust volume, brightness, and cursor size directly from search results, reducing the need to navigate through standard settings menus.
The update also deepens the integration between Windows and mobile devices via Phone Link. Android users can now place calls and send messages directly from the search bar, with iOS compatibility scheduled for rollout in early 2025. Additionally, the search interface now provides more detailed file previews and web-based answers, including stock and weather data.
On the enterprise front, Microsoft introduced a new Intune policy. This allows organizations to restrict user feedback submitted through the Feedback Hub so that it remains strictly internal, preventing it from being posted to public community forums or accessed by parties outside the corporate tenant.
These features are currently in the testing phase. Microsoft is continuing to refine the interface to ensure compatibility across different taskbar configurations and system layouts.
