Microsoft issues first firmware update for Surface Laptop Ultra
Microsoft has released a firmware update for the Surface Laptop Ultra to resolve display flickering and improve system restart times.
Microsoft has deployed its first firmware update for the Surface Laptop Ultra following initial reports of hardware issues. The update, designated as Microsoft Corporation System Hardware Update (200.0.7.0), is currently available for download via Windows Update.
The update focuses on resolving display stability, specifically addressing reports of screen flickering. It also targets system performance bottlenecks that previously caused elongated reboot times and occasional unplanned device restarts.
Since the laptop’s release, early users identified technical inconsistencies regarding the display and startup performance. Microsoft has committed to providing firmware support for the device for six years, with a planned end-of-support date in 2032.
