Microsoft OneNote to Remove Loop Components from Web Version

Microsoft has announced that it will remove support for Loop components within the OneNote web application in mid-September. Loop components, introduced in 2024, enable users to create and share tables and task lists across Microsoft 365 applications, facilitating collaboration.

Following this change, Loop components inserted into OneNote will no longer display directly in the web version. Instead, they will be converted into links that users must click to view the content. Microsoft has stated that the components themselves will not be deleted but their functionality in the browser will be altered.

The decision exclusively affects the OneNote web app. Microsoft emphasizes that the OneNote application for Windows will continue to fully support Loop components. The company cited optimizing the web version's user experience as the reason for this adjustment.

Microsoft has recommended that administrators update internal documentation and inform their users about this change. The company further suggests that users migrate to the Windows version of OneNote to maintain full access and functionality of Loop components.
