Microsoft Photos app now combines PC, OneDrive, and iCloud galleries
Microsoft has redesigned its Photos app for Windows 11, merging images and videos from PCs, OneDrive, and iCloud into a single gallery. The update aims to simplify photo management.

Microsoft has released a redesigned version of its Photos app for Windows 11. The new application consolidates images and videos from a user's PC, Microsoft's OneDrive cloud storage, and Apple's iCloud into one unified gallery.
The aim of this integration is to make it easier for users to manage and view their digital photos and videos without needing to switch between multiple applications or devices. Microsoft also states that the app's performance, including launch and scrolling speeds, has been improved.
To combine these photo libraries within the Windows 11 Photos app, users must enable camera backup in the OneDrive mobile app on iOS or Android devices and configure iCloud for Windows according to Apple's instructions.
Once integrated, the Photos app allows users to browse their combined collection by date, among other sorting options. The update also includes an enhanced image viewer and editing tools.
