Microsoft releases Windows 11 26H2 operating system in ISO format

Microsoft has made official ISO installation files for Windows 11 version 26H2 available on its website. These files, bearing the official build number 26300.9457, allow users to perform a clean installation of the operating system, upgrade existing systems, or repair the current installation.

The ISO format is a standard method for distributing operating system installation media. It facilitates the creation of bootable USB drives or direct mounting within virtual machines. Business and commercial users can download a 30-day free evaluation version in ISO format.

In addition to the ISOs, Microsoft has also provided an "enablement package" (eKB5121794). This package allows for a quick in-place upgrade from Windows 11 versions 24H2 or 25H2 to 26H2, provided the system meets the hardware and software requirements. The ISO installation offers a broader range of options.

Users can download ISO files for both the x64 architecture (Intel/AMD processors) and the Arm64 architecture (e.g., Qualcomm processors) from Microsoft's official Windows 11 download page. Microsoft's Media Creation Tool has also been updated to provide Windows 11 26H2, though its version number does not yet reflect the latest release.
