Microsoft Releases Windows 11 Preview Build with New Features
Microsoft has released a new preview build for Windows 11 on its Experimental channel. The update includes improvements to voice access, accessibility features, and overall system stability.
Microsoft released an update for Windows 11 on July 27th, targeting members of the Windows Insider program on the Experimental channel, which is reserved for testing future platform features. Build 29634.1000 introduces several enhancements and new functionalities for early adopters.
The update features new flight certificates, replacing older ones that expire in August 2026, ensuring continuity for Insider updates. Microsoft has also completed the full transition to its WIP channel user interface, with "Experimental (Future Platforms)" now clearly labeled in the Insider settings. This signifies a move towards more defined testing channels.
A key addition is the "voice isolation" feature for voice access. This capability aims to better differentiate the user's voice from background noise during conversations, with all processing handled locally on the device to maintain user privacy. Additionally, Narrator's support for braille devices has been optimized, offering a more seamless plug-and-play experience for users with visual impairments, including during the initial Windows setup process.
Other noted improvements include a modernized design for User Account Control pop-ups, a switch from Tenor API to GIPHY for GIF data in the emoji panel, enhanced reliability for app launch pages and the system tray in tablet mode, and fixes for Start menu view preferences. The system also refines the detection logic for time zone change notifications and improves content rendering for applications in multi-monitor setups.
