Microsoft has issued the optional KB5127653 update for Windows 11 26H1, introducing new configuration options for keyboards, improved file management, and enhanced Bluetooth reliability.

28 October 2026

Microsoft has released its October optional update, KB5127653, for Windows 11 26H1 users, bringing the OS build to 28000.3365. The release focuses on refining system navigation and adding new customization options for peripheral hardware.

Key changes include a new setting that allows users to remap the dedicated Copilot key on keyboards. This can now be configured to function as either the right Control key or the context menu key. File Explorer has also received updates, including better state persistence for expanded folders and improved thumbnail reliability for cloud-hosted files.

System settings have seen broad improvements, specifically regarding Bluetooth connectivity and audio stability. To aid accessibility, a new feature automatically maximizes application windows upon launch. Additional administrative features include support for re-using Wi-Fi profiles within the Windows Recovery Environment (WinRE) during system restoration.

While some features are available immediately upon installation, Microsoft noted that specific enhancements will be rolled out gradually to users over the coming months.
