Microsoft Stops LG From Displaying Unwanted McAfee Ads on Windows 11
Microsoft has intervened to halt intrusive McAfee antivirus pop-up ads appearing on Windows 11 PCs connected to LG monitors. LG has agreed to disable the ads immediately.

Microsoft has stepped in to address user complaints regarding unwanted McAfee antivirus trial advertisements pushed through LG's monitor software on Windows 11. The tech giant has requested LG cease displaying these disruptive pop-up ads.
Pavan Davuluri, vice president of Windows at Microsoft, stated that LG has agreed to immediately disable the McAfee pop-up notifications via its LG Monitor App Installer. Davuluri also pledged Microsoft's commitment to ongoing improvements with its hardware partners to prevent such issues.
The intervention follows widespread user backlash concerning intrusive pop-up ads for McAfee antivirus and LG's proprietary applications. These ads were reportedly installed silently via Windows driver updates when LG monitors were connected to PCs running Windows 11.
This action signifies Microsoft's effort to enhance the user experience on Windows 11 by reducing pre-installed bloatware and unwanted advertising. The company aims to refine its partnership strategies with hardware manufacturers to ensure a cleaner software experience for consumers.
