Microsoft to discontinue Prioritize My Inbox AI feature in Outlook

Microsoft is ending its Prioritize My Inbox feature, an AI-driven tool for sorting emails, just one year after its initial rollout.

24 October 2026

Microsoft has announced the discontinuation of its Prioritize My Inbox feature, which utilized Copilot AI to filter and organize user emails. The phase-out process is scheduled to begin on October 26, 2026, with the feature expected to be removed from all Outlook clients by the end of March 2027.

Launched in 2025, the tool was designed to learn individual workflows and automatically surface critical communications. Microsoft stated that the removal is intended to simplify the overall Copilot experience within the Outlook platform.

While the company has not provided a specific reason for the reversal, users will retain access to existing email management tools, such as the standard Focused Inbox, to organize their communications. The move marks a shift in Microsoft's approach to integrating generative AI directly into inbox management workflows.
