Microsoft has begun a 30-day countdown for users of Windows 11 23H2 Enterprise and Education editions, informing them that support for these versions will end in November 2024. The company urges users to upgrade their systems to ensure continued security.

Released on October 31, 2023, the Windows 11 23H2 Enterprise and Education versions were initially supported for 36 months. The Home and Pro editions for consumers concluded their support earlier, in November 2025. After the end of support, devices running these versions will no longer receive monthly security updates that include the latest threat protections.

Microsoft recommends users transition to Windows 11 26H2, which was officially released in September 2026. This version is slated to receive support until October 2029. The upgrade path is designed to be seamless for eligible devices, with automatic installation for those who have enabled the option to "get the latest updates as soon as they're available."

Users can check for the update manually through Settings > Windows Update. If their device qualifies, an option to "Download and install Windows 11, version 26H2" will be presented. This transition is crucial for maintaining system security and accessing future features.
