Microsoft to Increase Xbox Console Prices in Europe and UK

Microsoft is implementing substantial price increases on its Xbox consoles in the European Union and the United Kingdom, following earlier adjustments in the US market.

The price for the 1TB Xbox Series X console will rise by over 30 percent, increasing from £499.99 / €599.99 to £669.99 / €799.99. The more affordable 512GB Xbox Series S model will also see a significant jump, with its price increasing by over 43 percent from £299.99 / €349.99 to £429.99 / €499.99.

These adjustments come amid broader trends of rising component costs, particularly for RAM and storage, which have been influenced by demand from sectors like the AI industry. While other console manufacturers have also passed on some cost increases to consumers, Microsoft's latest European and UK hikes are notably substantial.

The company has not provided specific reasons for the magnitude of these particular increases, but they reflect the ongoing pressure on hardware costs within the technology sector. Consumers in the affected regions will now face higher entry points for purchasing new Xbox hardware.
