Microsoft Updates Surface Mouse After 10 Years With Haptic Feedback

Microsoft has announced a new iteration of its Surface Mouse, the first significant update to the accessory since its initial launch in 2016. The refreshed mouse introduces several key enhancements for users.

Notably, the new Surface Mouse incorporates haptic feedback. This functionality is powered by an internal vibration motor that provides tactile responses, such as confirming when windows are snapped into place or files are dragged between applications. Additionally, the mouse features a dedicated function button located on the top surface. This button can be customized by users to launch specific applications, including Microsoft's Copilot AI assistant.

The device connects via Bluetooth 6.0 and supports multi-device pairing, allowing users to switch seamlessly between different computers. Microsoft states that the mouse offers an extended battery life of up to six months on a single charge.

The new Surface Mouse is set to be released on October 13th, priced at $79.99. It will be available in two color options: black and platinum.
