Midea Advises on Air Conditioner Use During Rainy Weather

Midea Building Technologies has issued advice on the proper use of air conditioners during rainy periods. The company notes that the rainy season often increases indoor humidity, leading to stuffiness and potential mold growth. Even when outdoor temperatures drop, maintaining indoor comfort and health may require using an air conditioner.

The company recommends the "Dry" mode (dehumidify) as the optimal setting for rainy conditions. This mode effectively removes excess moisture from the air without excessive cooling, making it more energy-efficient than the standard "Cool" mode. Utilizing the dry mode helps prevent musty odors, inhibits mold, and keeps the indoor air feeling fresh.

The "Cool" mode is suggested for days where the rain persists but the temperature remains warm and humid. In this setting, the unit cools the room to a set temperature, with Midea advising a range of 25-27 degrees Celsius for energy savings and to prevent overcooling. The "Auto" mode offers automatic adjustments based on ambient conditions, while the "Fan" mode is for circulating air without active cooling.

Midea Building Technologies also stresses the importance of keeping doors and windows closed to prevent outside humidity from entering. Regular cleaning of air conditioner filters is advised, especially during damp seasons, to ensure efficient operation and cleaner indoor air. Proper mode selection not only enhances comfort but also contributes to energy conservation and extends the lifespan of the appliance.
