Midea and Electrolux Group Launch Three Joint Ventures in North America
Midea Group and Electrolux Group have formalized their strategic partnership in North America, with all three joint ventures now operational. The ventures aim to enhance product competitiveness and accelerate innovation.
Chinese Midea Group and Swedish Electrolux Group have formalized their long-term strategic partnership in North America by launching all three planned joint ventures. The initiative, first announced in April 2026, deepens over 20 years of collaboration between the two global appliance leaders.
The joint ventures aim to combine the companies' strengths in manufacturing, product development, innovation, supply chains, and commercial strategies. The goal is to improve product competitiveness and bring more innovative solutions to consumers in North America.
Midea Group Vice President Louis Zhao stated that the launch of the joint ventures represents a concrete step toward creating new opportunities. "By combining our strengths, we can convert years of collaboration into new innovations, improve our efficiency, and better serve consumers," Zhao said.
Electrolux Group CEO Yannick Fierling emphasized the partnership's significance for executing the company's strategy. "This enables acceleration of profitable growth and investment in the development of sustainable, consumer-centric innovations," Fierling added.
In the long term, the companies plan to roughly double local production capacity for food preservation and fabric care products in North America and expand into new product categories.
