Midea and Manchester City Launch Community Initiative in Johannesburg
Midea Africa and Manchester City have launched a community partnership initiative aimed at training young leaders in Johannesburg.

Midea Africa and football club Manchester City have begun their community partnership activities in Johannesburg, South Africa. The partnership's initial activation focused on training young leaders, equipping them with skills both on and off the football pitch.
Coaches from City in the Community (CITC) and local non-profit organizations, including Tackle Africa and DiskiNine9, delivered the training. The program aims to provide Johannesburg's youth with tools and confidence to become role models within their communities.
The training utilizes football as a vehicle to address social issues such as HIV and sexual health. Tackle Africa has previously trained over 400 coaches annually and reached more than 12,000 young people across seven countries with health education through football.
Midea's broader commitment to African cities, including Rabat, Lagos, Nairobi, and Luanda, involves supporting youth development. The company plans to continue its support for the Johannesburg initiative through further product donations to benefit the community.
