Midea App Offers Tools for Home Energy Efficiency Management

Midea Building Technologies has introduced the Midea SmartHome app, a platform aimed at empowering households to enhance their energy efficiency and gain better control over electricity expenses. The app provides a unified dashboard for managing various smart devices, including Midea's own appliances and compatible smart home products from other manufacturers.

A key feature of the application is its "Energy" tab, which presents users with real-time insights into their home's energy consumption. This allows for the monitoring of individual appliance power usage, such as air conditioners and refrigerators. Equipped with this data, consumers can make informed decisions to adjust device settings during peak hours or shift the operation of high-consumption appliances to off-peak times.

The app incorporates an AI-driven ECOMASTER function that optimizes the performance of appliances like air conditioner compressors and fans by analyzing local weather forecasts and user habits. Midea reports that this feature can deliver up to 30% additional energy savings compared to standard inverter operations. Furthermore, users can establish monthly energy saving targets, with the app automatically adjusting appliance settings to help meet these goals.

Through smart scheduling and location-based services, users can automate routines and ensure that devices are turned off when the home is unoccupied. The app also provides budget tracking capabilities and alerts to prevent exceeding consumption limits. Midea states the app aims to offer consumers the necessary tools and an intuitive experience to effectively manage their home energy costs.
