Midea菱王 Delivers World's First 50-Ton Freight Elevator

Midea Group announced on July 24 that its subsidiary, Midea Elevator, has delivered the world's first 50-ton capacity freight elevator. The elevator has been dispatched to the Nanshan International Supply Chain Base in Guangdong.

Previously, the maximum load capacity for freight elevators in widespread use was primarily concentrated under 30 tons. The successful delivery of this 50-ton unit is set to reshape the industry landscape in the field of ultra-large load capacities.

The elevator is custom-designed for port bulk logistics scenarios. Its cabin measures 4 meters by 20 meters by 4.5 meters, large enough to accommodate an 18-meter long container truck. This allows fully loaded trucks to drive directly into the elevator and reach high-rise warehouses in a single trip.

This eliminates the complex, multi-step process of unloading and transferring goods common in traditional methods. It significantly reduces logistics turnover time and lowers the risk of cargo damage, making it suitable for "storage to upper floors" and "industry to upper floors" applications.

Safety features include a self-developed multi-link double-acting safety gear system. Ten braking units operate synchronously, with braking error controlled within 1 millimeter – achieving hair-like precision for safe stopping of loads exceeding one hundred tons.
