Midea Enhances Air Conditioner Reliability in Tropical Climates
Midea Building Technologies introduces new protective technologies designed to improve the durability and performance of air conditioners in tropical and humid environments. The company emphasizes internally developed components.

Midea Building Technologies has developed new technologies to enhance the longevity and performance of its air conditioning units, particularly in tropical and coastal regions where high humidity and salt-laden air pose significant challenges. The company aims to ensure reliable, long-term operation.
Central to these advancements is Midea's Hyper Grapfins coating technology, which protects heat exchanger fins from corrosion and UV radiation. Midea states this graphene-based coating offers resistance for up to 20–50 years in industrial salt environments, substantially increasing the unit's lifespan and maintaining efficiency.
The Midea Prime Guard system incorporates multiple layers of protection. This includes a Hyper Graphene coating on copper pipes, a PCB with UV conformal coating, wide voltage operation (80V–265V) to manage power fluctuations, auto dedusting functionality, and an insect-resistant electrical box in select models.
Furthermore, Midea manufactures its own GMCC compressors, a critical component in air conditioners. In-house production and quality control allow for complete oversight of compressor performance and reliability over time. This approach reduces dependence on external suppliers and contributes to the overall quality of the final product.
