Midea Introduces Four Ceiling Cassette Air Conditioner Series in Malaysia
Midea Building Technologies has launched four ceiling cassette air conditioner series in Malaysia: MCX, MCCD, MCDX, and Celest One-way Cassette. The units are designed for energy efficiency and durability in tropical climates.

Midea Building Technologies has introduced four new ceiling cassette air conditioner series to the Malaysian market: MCX, MCCD, MCDX, and the Celest One-way Cassette. The company, recognized by Euromonitor as the world's leading air conditioner brand for two consecutive years, aims to meet the growing demand for reliable and efficient cooling solutions in offices, restaurants, and other commercial spaces.
Ceiling cassette systems offer more even airflow distribution and discreet installation compared to wall-mounted units, making them a popular choice for commercial premises in Malaysia. These systems preserve wall space and provide a more aesthetically pleasing appearance in customer-facing environments. The Celest one-way cassette option is specifically designed for spaces with limited ceiling height.
The selection of a unit is based on room size, cooling capacity, and available ceiling void. Midea's range covers 1.5 to 5 horsepower capacities. The company emphasizes the importance of choosing the correct unit size for optimal energy efficiency and operating costs. Ceiling cassette systems are generally recommended for larger spaces, commercial applications, and settings where interior design is a consideration.
Midea has equipped the outdoor units of its ceiling cassette series with a HYPER GRAPFINS coating on the heat exchanger. This graphene-based coating enhances corrosion resistance, particularly important in Malaysia's humid tropical climate and coastal areas. Third-party testing indicates the coating provides 20–50 years of corrosion resistance in salty environments, extending the lifespan of the equipment and reducing maintenance needs.
