Midea Issues Guidance on Refrigerator Setup After Moving
Midea Building Technologies has released a guide for safely connecting a refrigerator after it has been moved. The instructions emphasize the importance of a waiting period to prevent damage.

Midea Building Technologies has issued a comprehensive guide detailing the correct procedure for connecting a refrigerator after it has been relocated. The advice aims to ensure the appliance's longevity and optimal performance.
The company advises against immediate power connection post-transport. During transit, particularly if the unit is tilted, the oil within the compressor and refrigerant can shift. Plugging in too soon can cause the compressor to operate without adequate lubrication, potentially leading to internal damage and reduced lifespan.
The recommended waiting time varies depending on the transport method. For refrigerators moved in an upright position, a rest of 2โ4 hours is generally sufficient. If the unit was tilted or laid on its side, a longer period of 12โ24 hours is advised. For uncertain transport conditions, waiting a full 24 hours is recommended as a safe measure.
The guide also covers proper placement, leveling, and cleaning before plugging in. It stresses the need for a stable, level surface and adequate space at the rear for heat dissipation. Before stocking with food, the refrigerator should be allowed several hours, typically 12โ24, to reach its target cooling temperature.
