Midea Launches AI-Powered Home Ecosystem at IFA 2026
Midea Building Technologies unveiled its new AI-powered home ecosystem, SMART MASTER, at IFA 2026. The system aims to unify home appliances through natural, voice-controlled interaction.

Midea Building Technologies presented its new AI-powered home ecosystem, SMART MASTER, at IFA 2026 in Berlin. This solution, part of the broader Midea Suite, aims to create a home that responds to user needs naturally and seamlessly.
The core of SMART MASTER is an AI agent that supports 140 languages and recognizes speech from up to eight meters away with a 0.4-second response time. The system enables continuous conversation without needing to repeat a wake word. Interaction is also possible via home appliances such as air conditioners, refrigerators, and ovens, as well as through the Midea app, in-car systems, smart speakers, and phone voice assistants.
The ecosystem includes several "agents" for different home functions. The Efficiency Agent focuses on energy savings, helping manage energy consumption and leverage solar power by optimizing appliance operation. The Comfort Agent, in turn, coordinates air conditioning, humidifiers, and washer-dryers to create a comfortable indoor environment from the moment of arrival home. The Health Agent assists with cooking by suggesting recipes based on refrigerator contents and user dietary habits, and automatically controls kitchen appliances.
Additionally, the Service Agent offers support for appliance maintenance. It can diagnose appliance issues through methods like photos or video calls and provide clear instructions for repairs. The system can also log receipts and update refrigerator inventory. Midea Group's goal is to make the smart home an effortless part of everyday life.
