Midea Launches Full-Stack Data Centre Solution Globally

Midea Building Technologies officially launched its full-stack data centre solution for global markets in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on May 21. The company's "Feel the Future" event introduced a thermal management solution for AI Data Centre (AIDC) infrastructure, targeting faster delivery, improved energy efficiency, and reduced total costs.

The launch coincides with a period of increasing global demand for data centres, particularly driven by artificial intelligence applications. Midea is offering comprehensive thermal management across the entire data centre lifecycle, encompassing consulting, design, equipment delivery, and operations. The company leverages its long-term expertise in HVAC technology, intelligent manufacturing, and project delivery to create a closed-loop service capability.

Midea's technical architecture features a full suite of liquid cooling solutions, including cold sources, Coolant Distribution Units (CDUs), and liquid cooling endpoints. The company also introduced an integrated "air-liquid co-source" architecture enabling flexible coordination between room-level air cooling and server-level liquid cooling. This approach is particularly relevant for regions facing high summer temperatures and stringent water efficiency requirements.

The company is also constructing the Shunde Liquid Cooling Smart Manufacturing Base in China to significantly expand its liquid cooling production capacity. This investment of over 1 billion RMB (approximately €138 million) will support the mass production of components such as maglev chillers and CDU units. The facility is slated for completion in August 2027 and aims to support the sustainable development of AI data centres.
