Midea markets portable air conditioners for the Indonesian rental sector

Midea Building Technologies has released technical guidance for its MPHA portable air conditioner series, aiming to capture the rental market in Indonesia. As urbanization increases, many residents in apartments or boarding houses face restrictions on drilling walls for traditional split-system installations, making portable units a primary alternative.

The MPHA-05CRN7 and MPHA-09CRN7 models operate by venting hot air through a hose rather than requiring outdoor mounting. Midea has integrated features such as Gold Fin corrosion-resistant coatings to address the wear caused by Indonesia’s humid climate, as well as self-evaporative cooling systems to reduce the frequency of manual water drainage.

While the company promotes these units for their mobility and lack of installation requirements, it maintains that fixed split systems remain the preferred choice for long-term, high-efficiency cooling in permanent residences.
