Midea PortaSplit Meets European Demand for Flexible Cooling

Midea Building Technologies is experiencing substantial European demand for its PortaSplit portable air conditioning system. As summer temperatures rise across the continent, many households require effective cooling solutions but face limitations due to housing types that prevent conventional air conditioner installations.

PortaSplit combines the performance of a split-system with the flexibility of a portable unit. It does not require wall drilling or professional installation, making it suitable for rental properties, older buildings, and urban apartments. The system features separate indoor and outdoor units, offering split-system comfort that can be easily installed and relocated.

Since its European launch in 2024, PortaSplit has sold over 300,000 units. Recent heatwaves have accelerated consumer interest, leading to temporary availability issues in some markets. Midea is collaborating with retail partners and supply chain teams to improve future product availability.

The company emphasizes that PortaSplit is designed with European living conditions and usage habits in mind. Its separated units provide enhanced cooling efficiency and quieter indoor operation compared to traditional all-in-one portable units, while offering greater installation flexibility than fixed split systems.
