Mika Hakanen to lead Patria's international Sustainment Solutions

Patria has appointed Mika Hakanen as Vice President for its Sustainment International business area. Hakanen returns to Patria after spending six years in Norway managing helicopter programs at Kongsberg Aviation Maintenance Services (KAMS). He will now lead Patria's international sustainment operations based in Finland.

Hakanen's career at Patria began in 2009, contributing to the F/A-18 Hornet's life cycle upgrade and later holding leadership roles in the NH90 helicopter program. During his tenure at KAMS, he was involved in business development and long-term planning, including the integration of new airborne assets such as unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).

Upon his return, Hakanen emphasized the importance of understanding Patria's core mission within the evolving defense industry, particularly in a global context. He highlighted the strategic value of Nordic and international cooperation to advance Patria's capabilities and operations in Sweden, Belgium, and the Netherlands.

Hakanen sees opportunities for process improvement and the adoption of new technologies. He believes that a strong passion for the industry fosters high performance and innovation, critical elements for Patria's continued success in the defense sector.
