Mike Garrison to Retire from Medical Technology Firm BD
BD (Becton, Dickinson and Company) announced that executive vice president Michael (Mike) Garrison will retire on October 2, after more than two decades with the company.

FRANKLIN LAKES, N.J. – BD (Becton, Dickinson and Company) announced on July 22, 2026, that executive vice president Michael (Mike) Garrison intends to retire effective October 2. Garrison has been with the medical technology company for over 20 years.
Currently, Garrison serves as executive vice president and president of the Medical Essentials and BioPharma Systems segments. Throughout his tenure, he held various leadership positions, including as worldwide president of Medication Management Solutions and Surgery.
Tom Polen, Chairman, CEO, and President of BD, acknowledged Garrison's significant impact on the company, citing his leadership through transformation and a consistent focus on customers and patients. Polen added that Garrison built strong teams and developed leaders who positioned the business for the future.
Garrison will continue in his role through the end of the fiscal year. A search is underway for his successor as president of Medical Essentials. The BioPharma Systems segment will report directly to Polen going forward, reflecting its strategic importance and role as a growth driver.
