Mission Critical Partners to Aid Kentucky's Statewide NG911 Transformation

Mission Critical Partners (MCP) will assist the Kentucky 911 Services Board in the next phase of its statewide Next Generation 911 (NG911) initiative. The selection comes as Kentucky works to update its emergency communication infrastructure, with approximately 20 percent of its 117 emergency communication centers (ECCs) having already transitioned to NG911.

The NG911 system aims to enhance emergency response by improving location accuracy, system resilience, and overall service reliability. MCP's role will involve providing independent oversight for NG911 procurements and implementations, ensuring that deployed systems meet technical specifications and function correctly before activation.

Furthermore, MCP will offer crucial Geographic Information System (GIS) support to ensure accurate data for call routing and dispatching. This includes assistance with addressing data, ECC and responder boundaries, particularly for smaller centers lacking dedicated GIS staff. The firm will also bolster cybersecurity efforts for all ECCs across the state through planning and risk management.

MCP's engagement extends to developing continuity of operations plans (COOPs) and updating the state's strategic roadmap for future 911 modernization. "By providing procurement support, implementation oversight, GIS expertise, strategic planning, and cybersecurity guidance, we will help the board successfully modernize emergency communications across the state," stated Darrin Reilly, MCP's president and CEO.
