Jasmina Aganovic, a chemical and biological engineer trained at MIT and founder of Future Society, has developed a novel approach to personal scent.
The company has launched Base Scent, a product described as a "scent care treatment." Unlike traditional deodorants or fragrances, this product does not aim to mask or block the body's natural odor. Instead, Base Scent is a leave-on body treatment designed to work with the skin's biology.
According to Aganovic, the product "works with the living ecosystem of the skin and helps shift and shape the scent molecules that it's producing." The goal is to biologically alter body odor to a more neutral and pleasant state, allowing individuals to smell good naturally.
Future Society was founded during the pandemic, with an ethos focused on human resilience and inventiveness. The brand's philosophy emphasizes the importance of simply showing up as oneself. Base Scent embodies this by offering a way to manage body odor through a biologically integrated method.
