Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Expands Thermal Solutions to Overseas Markets
Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Thermal Systems will launch its "ETI-W" series of heat recovery water-to-water heat pumps in overseas markets starting October 2026, repurposing industrial waste heat.

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Thermal Systems (MHI-TSS) announced it will commence sales of its "ETI-W" series, a heat recovery water-to-water heat pump, in international markets beginning October 2026. This expansion follows the product's introduction to the Japanese market in 2025 and addresses a growing global demand for effective utilization of waste heat from industrial processes and decarbonization of heat usage.
The ETI-W units are designed to capture low-temperature waste heat, such as that generated from factory production processes, and convert it into high-temperature hot water up to 90 degrees Celsius using heat pump technology. With a heating capacity of up to 640 kW, these units enable the efficient reuse of previously untapped thermal energy. This extends the application of heat pumps to uses traditionally served by boilers for high-temperature water generation.
MHI-TSS plans to offer ETI-W solutions for process heat applications in industries including electronics, automotive, food, chemicals, and pharmaceuticals, as well as for heating and hot water supply in commercial facilities and accommodations. The company will leverage its established overseas sales and service network, built around its turbo chiller business, to provide tailored thermal solution proposals that incorporate waste heat recovery and reuse based on specific customer conditions.
The Mitsubishi Heavy Industries group is committed to reducing CO2 emissions, both from its own manufacturing activities and from the use of its products by customers. The international rollout of the ETI-W heat pumps is part of this strategy to contribute to a carbon-neutral society by providing energy-efficient and environmentally friendly thermal solutions.
