Mitsubishi Heavy Industries to Join Cybersecurity Charter of Trust
Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) has signed a letter of intent to join the Charter of Trust for Cybersecurity. The membership is expected to be finalized by September 2019, making MHI the initiative's first Asian corporate member.
Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) announced it has signed a letter of intent to join the Charter of Trust for Cybersecurity, a global initiative aimed at establishing binding rules and standards for digital security. The company's membership is anticipated to be concluded by the end of September 2019.
With this expansion, MHI will become the 17th partner and the first Asian company to join the charter, which was initiated by Siemens. The initiative seeks to build trust in cybersecurity and advance digitalization by setting foundational requirements for secure digital ecosystems.
"Cybersecurity is a key enabler for the implementation of the Internet of Things, as well as for protecting critical infrastructure," stated Joe Kaeser, President and CEO of Siemens. "We highly appreciate Mitsubishi Heavy Industries joining us as the first major Asian company, making the digital world more trustworthy and secure."
Shunichi Miyanaga, President and CEO of MHI, expressed honor at the invitation. He emphasized that cybersecurity is a focal area for MHI, with ongoing development of next-generation solutions. MHI aims to contribute to broadening the global reach of this cybersecurity effort.
