Mohawk Industries Publishes Annual Impact Report
Flooring manufacturer Mohawk Industries has released its 16th annual impact report, highlighting progress toward the company's sustainability goals and new eco-friendly product lines.
Calhoun, Georgia – Mohawk Industries, a global flooring manufacturer, has published its 16th annual impact report detailing progress made toward its sustainability objectives. The report outlines new environmentally conscious products for residential and commercial use, alongside initiatives benefiting employees, communities, and the environment.
Company Chairman and CEO Jeff Lorberbaum stated that Mohawk invests in solutions designed to reduce environmental impact, strengthen its business, and benefit customers. The company focuses on engineering products that lower carbon emissions, increase recycled content, embrace circular design, and extend product lifespans.
The report highlights sustainable product advancements, including SolidTech® R flooring, a waterproof and PVC-free option made from recycled plastics and natural stone. In 2024, Mohawk repurposed billions of plastic bottles into flooring and nearly 1.5 billion pounds of waste wood into chipboard. The company also exceeded its goal of reducing Scope 1, 2, and biogenic emissions intensity by 30% from a 2010 baseline, while increasing renewable energy consumption by 117%.
Mohawk also reported on its workforce, noting that over 10% of its 41,900 global employees have been with the company for 25 years or more. Safety initiatives have contributed to a decrease in the global recordable incident rate by approximately 35% compared to 2010 levels.
As the world's largest flooring company, Mohawk Industries markets its products in approximately 180 countries. Its portfolio includes ceramic tile, carpet, resilient, laminate, and wood flooring.
