Mohawk Industries reports second quarter net earnings of $280 million
Mohawk Industries posted second quarter earnings of $280 million on $3.2 billion in revenue, as the company faces persistent inflationary pressures and cooling residential demand.

Mohawk Industries recorded net earnings of $280 million for the second quarter of 2022, down from $336 million in the same period last year. Revenue rose by 6.7 percent to $3.2 billion, driven by product price increases and organic growth, despite significant macroeconomic headwinds.
Chairman and CEO Jeffrey S. Lorberbaum noted that the company is contending with rising costs for energy, raw materials, and transportation. The strengthening U.S. dollar also created negative translation effects on the company’s bottom line. To mitigate these pressures, the manufacturer has implemented multiple price increases across its product lines while initiating cost-control measures.
Market demand is showing signs of divergence. While residential remodeling and home sales in the U.S. have slowed due to rising interest rates and inflation, the commercial construction sector remains resilient with an increase in project initiations. The company continues to deploy capital for expansion, including recently announced acquisitions such as Vitromex in Mexico and Foss Floors in the U.S.
