Mohawk Industries unveils long-term capital allocation framework and $500M buyback
Flooring manufacturer Mohawk Industries has established a new strategic framework to guide future investment and authorized a $500 million share repurchase program.

Mohawk Industries has introduced a new strategic and capital allocation framework intended to guide long-term priorities and shareholder value creation. The plan emphasizes market outperformance, product innovation, operational efficiency, and strict capital discipline.
Under the framework, the company plans to limit baseline capital expenditures to approximately $375 million annually, focusing investment on core growth areas. Future bolt-on acquisitions will be subject to rigorous return criteria. Mohawk also aims to maintain an investment-grade balance sheet with a target net debt-to-EBITDA ratio of up to 2.0x.
Alongside the framework, the board has approved a $500 million share repurchase program. This move follows the completion of a previous $500 million authorization initiated in July 2025, which saw the company repurchase approximately 7% of its outstanding shares. CEO Paul De Cock stated that the framework is designed to support disciplined execution and ensure that excess free cash is deployed to provide shareholder returns.
Mohawk Industries, a global player in flooring and design surfaces, will discuss the implications of this new policy during its third-quarter earnings call.
