Travel and lifestyle brand Mokobara has secured ₹170 Crore (approximately $18 million) in a Series C funding round, with Sauce.vc leading the investment. The round also saw participation from existing backers including Peak XV Partners, AYRA Ventures, and Niveshaay Investment.
According to filings accessed by Inc42, Mokobara's board approved a proposal to issue Series C compulsorily convertible preference shares to investors. The company has not yet issued a formal statement regarding the funding.
Founded in 2019 by Sangeet Agrawal and Navin Parwal, Mokobara offers a range of luggage, travel bags, and accessories through its online platform. The brand also sells on marketplaces like Amazon and Flipkart and operates approximately 50 physical stores across several Indian cities.
Mokobara expanded internationally in February 2025 with the opening of its first store in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The company competes with other domestic and international luggage brands in a growing Indian market.
The funding comes as India's luggage market experiences significant growth, fueled by increased travel and a consumer shift towards branded products. The homegrown luggage industry is projected to become a substantial market opportunity in the coming years.
