Moldova eGovernance Agency rolls out digital EVO identity proofs in banking
Moldova's eGovernance Agency now accepts digital identity proofs from the country's integrated government app, EVO, for customer identification at four major banks. This expands the use of digital credentials.

Moldova's eGovernance Agency has introduced digital identity proofs, developed to European standards, into the banking sector. Four of the country's largest banks โ Moldindconbank, FinComBank, EuroCreditBank, and Victoriabank โ now accept customer identification via EVO, the integrated government application.
The new policy allows citizens to digitally verify their identity using the EVO app when applying for banking services. This reduces the need for physical documents and speeds up the identification process, enhancing user experience and security.
The move aligns with adherence to the EU's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other European standards. The objective is to further integrate Moldova's digital infrastructure with European practices, promoting digital transformation and improving administrative efficiency.
The eGovernance Agency plans to expand the use of EVO identity proofs to other services and sectors, supporting the country's digitalization efforts across public and private services.
