Molecule Acquires Trilogy Energy Solutions to Combine Gas Trading
Energy trading and risk management platform Molecule has acquired Trilogy Energy Solutions, a cloud-native software provider for physical natural gas operations.

Molecule, an energy trading and risk management (ETRM) platform provider, has acquired Trilogy Energy Solutions. Trilogy specializes in cloud-native software for physical natural gas operations, serving producers, marketers, and midstream companies across North America.
The acquisition merges Molecule's trading platform capabilities with Trilogy's expertise in physical gas operations, including gas gathering, pipeline nominations, and producer settlements. The combined entity aims to provide a full-stack, AI-enabled system that integrates physical and financial energy transactions.
"Bringing Trilogy into the Molecule family extends our mission from trading desks into the physical operations of the gas business," said Sameer Soleja, Founder and President of Molecule. "The combined product will offer all-in-one capabilities that improve data accuracy and accelerate decision-making for customers."
Molecule CEO Patrick Smith highlighted that the deal addresses industry inefficiencies where trading and physical operations have been treated as separate issues. The integrated platform will offer a single view from gas operations to the trading desk, reducing manual work and reconciliation.
The transaction was supported by Sundance Growth, with Trilogy's founder Jeremy Frye joining Molecule to enhance product development and service offerings.
