Monport MEGAS highlights shift to production-ready CO2 laser systems

Monport is observing a market shift from entry-level hobby laser machines to production-ready desktop CO2 laser systems, exemplified by its MEGAS model. The company positions the MEGAS as a solution for small businesses and makers seeking to scale production capacity without the need for larger industrial equipment.

The trend is driven by the growth of personalized e-commerce and small-scale manufacturing, such as on Etsy. Businesses require faster processing speeds, larger work areas, and features suited for repeated or batch production. The MEGAS unit offers 70W laser power, a 700 x 350 mm workspace, and up to 600 mm/s engraving speed, aiming to improve throughput.

"We're seeing a clear shift in the market," stated the CEO of Monport.
