Montage Technology begins mass production of DDR5 CKD chips
Montage Technology has started mass production of its next-generation client clock driver (CKD) chips for DDR5 memory modules. The chip supports data transfer rates up to 9200 MT/s.

Chinese technology firm Montage Technology announced it has begun mass production of its new generation client clock driver (CKD) chip for DDR5 memory modules, model CK01P. The chip supports data transfer rates of up to 9200 megatransfers per second (MT/s), a significant advancement for memory performance in client devices.
The CK01P chip adheres to JEDEC DDR5CKD01 specifications and is designed for upcoming DDR5 CUDIMM, CSODIMM, CQDIMM, and CAMM memory module applications. It features three clock drive modes โ single PLL, dual PLL, and PLL bypass โ offering flexibility for diverse system needs. The chip incorporates a Zero Phase Latency architecture with per-channel programmable delay, ensuring precise clocking and signal integrity.
Montage Technology President Stephen Tai highlighted the chip's relevance as AI applications increasingly integrate into client platforms. He noted the growing demands for memory bandwidth, signal integrity, and power efficiency. The CK01P aims to provide high-speed, stable clock support to enable next-generation client devices to meet the performance demands of the AI era.
Additionally, the chip's capability to reduce power consumption by disabling unused clock outputs is crucial for enhancing device energy efficiency. The commencement of mass production for this chip aligns with the increasing market demand for more performant and energy-conscious client solutions.
