Moondrop and ddHiFi release limited edition Blue Rose portable DAC/amp
Moondrop and ddHiFi have launched the Blue Rose portable DAC and amplifier, a joint development limited to 1,000 units worldwide.
Moondrop and ddHiFi have released the Blue Rose, a portable digital-to-analog converter (DAC) and headphone amplifier, with a retail price of 1,399 yuan. The device is a collaborative redesign based on the hardware architecture of the ddHiFi TC44, incorporating custom tuning from both companies.
Equipped with dual Cirrus Logic CS43198 DAC chips and dual SGM8262-2 operational amplifiers, the Blue Rose supports high-resolution audio formats, including 32-bit/768kHz PCM and DSD256. The unit features both 3.5mm and 4.4mm headphone outputs. In high-gain mode, the device provides an output power of up to 500mW into a 32-ohm load, intended to accommodate both in-ear monitors and over-ear headphones.
Functionality is enhanced by an integrated second-generation DSP system. Users can adjust parametric equalizer settings—including filter types, center frequencies, and gain—via an Android application or a professional web-based interface. The system also supports a community-based platform where users can share and download custom audio profiles.
The exterior is constructed from anodized aluminum, featuring a distinct blue aesthetic. Global production of the Blue Rose is limited to 1,000 units.
