AI company Moonshot AI announced it will release the model weights for its Kimi K3 artificial intelligence model on July 27. The move permits developers to download, modify, and independently host the large language model.
Kimi K3, launched earlier this month, features 2.8 trillion parameters and native visual understanding capabilities. A key feature is its one-million-token context window, enabling the processing of extensive data inputs.
The Beijing-based company positions Kimi K3 as an open-weight model designed for long-horizon coding tasks, knowledge work, and complex reasoning. Moonshot AI is also expected to publish a technical report detailing the model's architecture, training methodology, and performance evaluations.
