Chinese AI company Moonshot AI announced the launch of its Kimi K3 model on July 16. The company states this is its most powerful model yet, featuring 2.8 trillion parameters and a 1 million token context window. It is designed for long-form programming and comprehensive knowledge work.
The Kimi K3 model is built on Moonshot AI's Kimi Delta Attention mechanism and Attention Residuals technology. It natively supports visual understanding and is engineered to handle advanced scenarios in software engineering, knowledge work, and deep reasoning.
In performance benchmarks, Kimi K3 secured the top position in the Frontend Code Arena, scoring 1679 points and outperforming Claude Fable 5. According to the arena's official account, Kimi K3 ranked first in six out of seven domains, including brand and marketing, design, data analysis, and consumer products.
Usage of the Kimi K3 model is priced on a pay-as-you-go basis through the Kimi open platform. Input costs are 2 yuan per 1 million tokens if cached and 20 yuan if not cached, while output costs 100 yuan per 1 million tokens.
