Moore Threads Unveils MTT C256 System Featuring 256 GPUs

Chinese graphics processing unit (GPU) developer Moore Threads has unveiled its MTT C256 system at the WAIC 2026 event. The system aggregates 256 individual GPUs into a singular, data-center-scale computing unit.

The MTT C256 utilizes a one-layer scale-up network to facilitate all-to-all communication across the 256 GPUs. Moore Threads claims this networking approach achieves sub-microsecond latency. The entire setup is housed within two standard server racks.

During the demonstration, the company also showcased the system's capability in training a 236-billion-parameter mixture-of-experts model. This training process involved a dataset exceeding 25 trillion tokens, highlighting the system's potential for large-scale AI computations.
