Moët Hennessy, the wines and spirits division of LVMH, has launched a new American whisky named SirDavis in collaboration with artist Beyoncé Knowles-Carter. The joint venture is described as a shared vision for the future of American whisky.

The development of SirDavis was a multi-year process. Knowles-Carter reportedly approached Moët Hennessy seeking to create a unique flavor profile, while the spirits company was exploring expansion within the American whisky market.

The whisky is named in honor of Davis Hogue, Knowles-Carter's paternal great-grandfather, who was a Prohibition-era "moonshiner" in the Southern United States. Master Distiller Dr. Bill Lumsden, known for his work with Scotch whisky brands, led the creation. The blend uses a mash bill of 51% rye and 49% malted barley, with a secondary maturation in sherry casks.

SirDavis was awarded Best in Class for American Whiskey at the SIP Awards 2023, receiving the highest consumer judge scores. It also earned a Gold Medal from the New York International Spirits Competition. The bottle design was overseen by Knowles-Carter, and the whisky is finished, blended, and bottled in Texas.

SirDavis retails for $89 and is available for pre-order online. The product will be available across the U.S. and in select retail locations in London, Paris, and Tokyo starting September 2024.
