Motor Presse Stuttgart is hosting the tenth Paul Pietsch Classic from May 19-20, 2023. This veteran car rally commemorates Paul Pietsch (1911-2012), the founder of the media company and a former racing driver and publisher.

Pietsch, who laid the foundation for auto motor und sport magazine and Motor Presse Stuttgart in 1946, hailed from the Black Forest region. The rally follows his former routes through the scenic landscape, starting in Offenburg on May 19. The route will travel through the Rhine valley and Kaiserstuhl before returning via the Black Forest.

On Saturday, May 20, participants will face their first timed stage at the traditional karting circuit in Urloffen. The rally will then traverse the central Black Forest, with the historic vehicles concluding their tour in Offenburg on Saturday afternoon. Spectators can view the cars beginning around 3:20 PM.

The car with starting number one is a silver Veritas RS from 1947, a model with which Paul Pietsch won the German Sports Car Championship in 1950. The car will be driven by Motor Presse Stuttgart shareholders Peter-Paul Pietsch and Dr. Patricia Scholten. Approximately 120 classic cars, manufactured between 1929 and 2000, will participate, showcasing eight decades of automotive history.
