Motor Presse Stuttgart's autonis Design Award Celebrates 25 Years

Motor Presse Stuttgart's auto motor und sport magazine is celebrating the 25th anniversary of its coveted autonis reader poll, which recognizes automotive design. This year's edition saw 14,000 participants cast their votes for the best car designs of the past twelve months.
The poll featured 117 models competing in 13 categories, ranging from compact city cars to large luxury SUVs. A notable outcome was a tie in the "Luxury Class" category, with the Mercedes S-Class and Bentley Continental GT both receiving 44.7 percent of the votes.
Design accolades were distributed across eleven different brands, highlighting a broad appreciation for automotive aesthetics. Audi and BMW each secured two category wins. Audi's A5 and e-tron GT were victorious, with Audi also sweeping the podium in the "Upper Mid-size Class." BMW's X3 won in "Large SUVs/Off-roaders," and its 2 Series Coupé took the "Compact Cars" title. Aston Martin achieved a double win in both the "Sports Cars" and "Convertibles" categories with its Vanquish model.
Regarding electric vehicles, 77 percent of participants confirmed that consumer design expectations for EVs now mirror those for combustion engine cars. The Škoda Elroq won the "Compact SUVs/Crossovers" category. BMW was named "Design Brand of the Year," while Mercedes received recognition for the best interior design.
