Mouser Electronics adds SynapSense wireless pressure sensor for data center cooling

Mouser Electronics has introduced the SynapSense Pressure Node 3, a battery-operated sensor designed to monitor differential air pressure and improve data center cooling efficiency.

2 November 2026

Mouser Electronics is now stocking the SynapSense Pressure Node 3, a wireless sensing device intended for data center cooling optimization. The unit measures air pressure differentials between subfloor plenums and room environments, providing data to help facility managers track airflow effectiveness.

Operating as part of a wireless mesh network, the device eliminates the need for complex hard-wired infrastructure. It features self-configuring networking capabilities and uses 128-bit encryption for secure data transmission. According to technical documentation, the node is powered by two AA batteries with an expected lifespan of five to seven years.

The sensor integrates with SynapSoft cooling management software to generate thermal maps and identify airflow anomalies. By monitoring these metrics, operators can identify reclaimable cooling capacity and improve overall energy efficiency. The unit is part of a broader SynapSense lineup that includes gateways and additional environmental monitoring nodes.
