Mouser Electronics Distributes TDK InvenSense Time-of-Flight Range Sensor

Mouser Electronics, a global distributor of electronic components, is now shipping the ICU-20201 Time-of-Flight (ToF) range sensor from TDK InvenSense. This miniature, ultra-low power (1.8 V) sensor utilizes patented compressed high-intensity radar pulse MEMS technology. Its applications include wake-on-approach functionality for smart locks, wall-following, obstacle avoidance, vehicle counting in parking lots, and ground-level measurement for drones.

The ICU-20201 sensor offers multi-object detection and accurate range measurements up to 5 meters, functioning effectively in all lighting conditions from full sunlight to complete darkness. It features an integrated 85 kHz piezoelectric, micromachined ultrasonic transducer (PMUT) and a second-generation ultra-low power System on Chip (SoC). The sensor supports a customizable field-of-view (FOV) up to 180° and uses a single sound port for both transmitting and receiving.

To aid developers, Mouser is also stocking the EV_ICU-20201-00 evaluation board and the DK-x0201 development kit for the ICU-20201. The development kit includes a host board with a Microchip Technology SAMG55 microcontroller, a daughter board, and a target board with a pre-mounted ICU-20201 sensor, enabling rapid evaluation and development via a PC with GUI-based software.
