Mouser Electronics Ships New Microchip AVR LA Microcontrollers

Mouser Electronics is now shipping Microchip Technology's new AVR® LA microcontrollers (MCUs). These new chips are designed for applications requiring low voltage (1.62V to 5.5V) and a small physical footprint.

The AVR LA MCUs are suitable for a wide range of applications, including wearables, consumer electronics, home automation systems, industrial and medical equipment controls, battery-powered sensors, and automotive human-machine interfaces. They are optimized for capacitive touch interfaces and low-power embedded applications.

The microcontrollers utilize an AVR CPU running at 20 MHz with a hardware multiplier. They combine a flexible low-power architecture with an event system, accurate analog subsystems, and advanced digital peripherals. The AVR LA chips support touch functionalities like buttons, sliders, and wheels, using Driven Shield+ and Boost Mode technologies.

Mouser also supplies the AVR32LA32 Curiosity Nano evaluation kit, which facilitates testing and development of the new microcontrollers. The development board offers full programming and debugging capabilities and supports various development tools.
