Mouser Electronics Starts Distribution of Raspberry Pi's Hailo 8L AI Kit

Mouser Electronics is now distributing the Raspberry Pi Hailo 8L AI kit, a product designed to enhance artificial intelligence (AI) applications. The kit integrates an M.2-form factor Hailo 8L AI accelerator with the Raspberry Pi 5 single-board computer.

The ready-to-use kit offers a cost-effective and power-efficient solution for incorporating high-performance AI into applications such as process control, security systems, home automation, voice recognition, and robotics. The Hailo 8L accelerator is capable of 13 tera-operations per second (TOPS) for neural network inference.

When installed on a Raspberry Pi 5, the Hailo 8L enables rapid development of complex AI vision applications with low latency and minimal power requirements. The module processes neural networks for tasks like facial landmarking, instance segmentation, and object detection, freeing up the Raspberry Pi 5's CPU for other processes. A thermal pad is included to manage heat and improve performance.
