Mouser Electronics has begun stocking the Panasonic SN-GCQB1 laser-type air quality sensor. This component offers precise measurement of temperature, humidity, particulate matter, Total Volatile Organic Compounds (TVOCs), and equivalent carbon dioxide (eCO2) levels.

The sensor is designed for both indoor and outdoor monitoring and is targeted towards applications in the retail, medical, and smart building sectors. It can be integrated into systems such as HVAC, air purifiers, greenhouses, and industrial facilities.

Utilizing a high-precision optical sensor and laser diode, the SN-GCQB1 detects particulate matter including dust, soot, smoke, and aerosols. Its design includes an optimized airflow pathway to prevent particle buildup and protect internal components. An onboard microprocessor and micro-fan enhance efficiency, while auto-calibration ensures a lifespan of over ten years.

The sensor features a protective resin shell against electromagnetic radiation for stable long-term performance. Measuring 37 mm x 37 mm x 12 mm, it is suitable for compact designs like wearables and smart home devices. The sensor measures relative humidity from 0% to 100% with ±3.0% accuracy and temperature from -10°C to +60°C with ±0.4°C accuracy, detecting PM1.0, PM2.5, and PM10.
